The Spa at The Royal Malewane Lodge in Thornybush Game Reserve, Greater Kruger National Park, South Africa is one of the most luxurious places on the continent, if not the planet!

When you step through the massive, carved wooden doors into its serene courtyard you realise that what you are about to experience is going to be magical. The Spa is nestled in the bush, a short walk from the main camp, with treatment rooms surrounding the spa pool. It has casitas with comfortable daybeds for relaxing out of the sun as well as an air-conditioned gym and even a hair salon.

We are very excited to offer couples the opportunity to wed at this unique lodge. Even though it is superbly luxurious, the staff and management at the lodge are so warm and friendly that you instantly feel at home.

The decor is best described as eclectic cross colonial, with fabulous pieces collected from all over the world. No expense has been spared when it comes to guest comfort. Brightly coloured pieces mix with classic furniture in large rooms that are light and bright.  Not what one usually expects from a safari lodge but then one soon realises to expect the unexpected at the Royal Malewane. Each piece of decor was hand-picked by the owner..

Each of the suites has a private splash pool and it is not unusual to  view game from your private pool, sometimes getting a very up close and personal visit from the elephants, looking to have a quick drink from the pool.

If guests are travelling in a small group or with children, they can book into the Africa House, which sleeps up to 12 people and comes with a private chef and game viewers.  The lodge can accommodate up to 32 people and can be booked out exclusively for a wedding or renewal of vows. For smaller groups we highly recommend the Africa House. This lodge is definitely at the top of our list in terms of luxury.
